CardPriceMonkey, a Magic Card Chat Bot

Features/Items of Note:

• You can search up cards by name and for each set, it lets you know the price (TCGPlayer Market) and how many I have.
• You can get a list of the most valuable available cards.
• You can get a list of all the cards I'm looking for.
• The bot is for trading with friends and acquaintances. It is not meant for macro-scale trading. Please get in touch with me if you want to set up a trade.
• If I don't have a playset (4) of a card, the bot tells how much I'm willing to trade for copies of that card. (If they're on the want list, I'll trade for the full value.)
• The bot doesn't respond to random comments. Each command needs to be preceeded by a bang (!) e.g. !card monkey monkey monkey for the bot to do anything.
• I have over 40,000 cards entered!

In an older version of this, I had functionality to propose trades, but I haven't done that and I don't know whether I will.

History/Past Versions:

• This project started as a local HTML interface after I learned how to use PSQL in 2004.
• Later, around 2006 or 2007, I created an AIM bot interface. I did stop running this version before the end of AIM in 2017.
• Starting in 2010, I added a Google Talk/Hangouts/Chat interface. I stopped running this around when Google shut down third-party access to Google Chat in 2022.
• Late in 2022, I got this Discord version running.

Adding the Bot

If you want, you can invite the bot to your own discord server. You can kick it from the server at any time. As I mentioned above, it won't just respond to random comments; only comments that begin with a bang (!).

The only sketchy thing the bot does is it tells me which servers it's on. I don't look at or record messages or server rosters or anything else like that.
